Today’s split-sermon will explore the events that took place sequentially during the forty days Christ spent with His disciples after His resurrection. It will also review what Christ instructed His disciples to do after His ascension
Are We Special?

Brethren, are we special? Here on the Feast of Pentecost, we understand this day to picture those who are called to be spiritual firstfruits—a smaller, spiritual harvest that comes before the big one. Since we are called to be part of this smaller, spiritual harvest, does that make us special? Does it make us more special than family and friends, or colleagues at work who are not being called at this time? In my message today, I would like to talk about the “special” calling we have from God in this life. If you ever have a conversation about God’s plan of salvation with someone who struggles with the notion that some are called now and others aren’t, you might be accused of thinking you are more special than others. I believe there is both a “yes and “no” answer to the question: "Are we special?”
