April 20, 2018: Countering the Culture of Criticism
Presented by Clyde Kilough
My soul is among lions; I lie among the sons of men who are set on fire, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.” What? Were memes and social media, politicians and commentators around back in David’s time too? People have always been snarky, negative and quick to find fault, but it seems that what David described 3,000 years ago in Psalm 57:4 is worse now than ever! The culture of criticism is insidious, eroding basic values of Christianity, and at times it has damaged our relationships as brothers and sisters. This study focuses on resisting this mind-set, because if we don’t counter it, we’ll get caught up in it.
